Camusluinie is situated amidst the majestic hills of Glen Elchaig in Kintail, on the mainland opposite the Isle of Skye. If you are looking for accommodation in the Highlands, you’ve come to the right place. You have a choice of two cosy self-catering cottages, Rocky Mountain View and Faery Fort, or more basic, no-frills accommodation in the Bunkhouse.
We are not on the Isle of Skye, but offer a peaceful alternative away from the main tourist route and you can reconnect with the tourist route in 15 minutes. Far away from local facilities and very remote, but a great place to recharge your batteries. There are plenty of great walks straight out the front door and the properties are next to a working croft, so do say hi to the sheep, piglets, ducks and hens when you cross paths with them!
Located on the Cape Wrath Trail – Shiel Bridge to Strathcarron section – we are an ideal base from which to tour the North West coast, whether for walking, Munro-bagging, bird watching or wildlife spotting. We are also possibly the nearest accommodation to the majestic Falls of Glomach (which is Britain’s highest) but if you want to see this hidden wonder you must be prepared both physically and mentally for a five hour hike, a great challenge!
We are very remote, so a car or other transportation is a must, as is a supply of food for your stay. Please note that there is no mobile phone reception in the glen.
